Welcome to a versatile destination for family gatherings, friendly dinners, or romantic interludes. Start your day with a hearty breakfast at eight, then enjoy our historic interior or sunlit terrace. Our seasonal menus showcase the finest Sussex produce, sourced from local farmers, fishermen, and butchers, ensuring fresh and vibrant flavours.


Indulge in a Classic Sunday Roast from the Autumn Equinox to the Spring Bank Holiday, featuring Roast British Beef, Roast Rump of Lamb, and Slow-roasted Belly of Pork.  As the weather warms up during Spring and Summer, our dishes get a little spice and heat too as we introduce Asian-inspired cooking influenced by Chef's globetrotting.


Local to us?  Join us for Neighbour's Night on the second Thursday of each month, a chance for the parish to gather and enjoy delightful dishes together.  Two course fixed menu £25.


We also offer bespoke menu creation for private events, tailored to your preferences.

Head Chef Ben Miller and his team craft irresistible seasonal menus, using the finest local produce from trusted suppliers. A friendly atmosphere and state-of-the-art kitchen fosters creativity and ensures that every dish, whether a comforting Sunday roast, a traditional pub favourite, or an innovative à la carte creation, is made with passion and pride. Ben’s extensive travels, having worked in top kitchens across the UK, Sydney, and Bangkok, inspire his menus with global influences. His talent was recognised by Michel Roux Jr. when he reached the semi-finals of BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals—an unforgettable highlight of his career, reflecting his dedication to culinary excellence.

The Team

Led by local resident Odile Griffith, the new owners have brought together an outstanding team to care for guests. Working together, the team ensures seamless, welcoming service combined with precision with charm. Much like a performance, at nearby Chichester Festival Theatre, ‘the lights go down and the show begins,’ and we ensure every guest experience is flawless and memorable, where hospitality is both an art and a delight.
